Suunto dive log: EON, D5, Ocean and Nautic dives beside every other computer
Updated October 19, 2026
The Suunto app shows your Suunto dives, and only those. BubbleJournal downloads from Suunto's Bluetooth computers and reads the files the Suunto app and Dive Manager save, so a Suunto logbook can sit beside dives from any other computer you have dived with.
Over Bluetooth, from the app
The app is coming soon to the App Store and Google Play. Until then, bring the dives in from a file.
Turn on the computer's Bluetooth, tap Download dives in the app and choose it.
- Suunto EON Steel
- Suunto EON Steel Black
- Suunto EON Core
- Suunto D5
From a file
Save the dives from Suunto's software, then choose the files on the Import page, many at once or as a zip.
- The Suunto app, one dive (EON Core, Ocean, Nautic):
.json - Suunto Ocean, an activity file:
.fit - Suunto Dive Manager 3:
.sde - Suunto Dive Manager 4 and 5, an export or the whole database:
.xml,.db
What comes across
- The depth profile and water temperature
- Gases, with oxygen and helium
- Tank sizes and pressures, so the dive shows its air consumption (SAC)
- From the Suunto app: where you went in, from the GPS, and CNS and OTU at the end of the dive
Every file you import is kept exactly as uploaded, so nothing is lost if BubbleJournal learns to read more of it later.
What doesn't
- Ocean, Nautic and older computers such as the Vyper, Zoop and D4i can't be downloaded over Bluetooth by the app: bring their dives in as files.
Its decompression model
Suunto computers use Suunto's own RGBM models, such as Fused RGBM 2, and recent firmware also offers Bühlmann with gradient factors. Where the file holds it, the computer's own NDL comes across with each dive. BubbleJournal also works the NDL and tissue loading out again with one model, Bühlmann ZHL-16C, so dives from any computer can be compared: why your computer and your logbook disagree.
What the numbers mean
- Air consumption (SAC rate): how to work it out and use it
- No-decompression limit (NDL): what it is and why it changes
- Tissue loading: what the percentage means and how it falls
- How to read a dive profile
